Barcelona ready to launch fresh January bid for Philippe Coutinho

Barcelona ready to launch fresh January bid for Philippe Coutinho

The Reds managed to keep their Brazil worldwide at Anfield beyond the summer transfer window despite Barcelona's numerous attempts to sign the number 10. They are also claiming that the two clubs have kept the lines of communication open and are both keen to wrap things up, as Paris Saint-Germain are looking to get involved as well.

The Catalan giants spent the summer chasing Coutinho as they attempted to fill the Neymar-shaped hole to the left of the three-peaked attack but ultimately failed, despite the Brazilian telling Liverpool of his desire to leave the club.

Their resistance was greeted with frustration, but Barcelona are clearly not ready to end... "After taxes we received about €188m (£168m) in income and a direct financial impact on the club's treasury of €144m (£129m)".

Barcelona have signalled their intentions to revive efforts to sign Liverpool's Philippe Coutino when the transfer window opens in January.

However, Mundo Deportivo reported on Wednesday that Coutinho has an agreement with Liverpool that will allow him to leave Anfield in the winter window.

Coutinho wanted to move to the Camp Nou in the summer and Barcelona lodged multiple bids with Liverpool in an attempt to do the deal.

"The club is in a position to give them the best team possible, which is what we want", he added.

Liverpool were upset by Barca's very public pursuit of their star player in the summer and are less than impressed by yesterday's latest unwanted development.
