Comedian Ralphie May dead of cardiac arrest at age 45

Comedian Raphie May died this morning, Friday, October 6th, after suffering a cardiac arrest. As the Hollywood Reporter noted, May was in the midst of a nationwide tour but had to cancel a handful of dates in recent weeks after a bout with pneumonia. His body was later discovered at the residence, according to his rep.

May rose to fame after he finished in second place in the first Season of, Last Comic Standing, in 2003.

His publicist said May's survivors include his wife, Lahna Turner, and children April June and August James.

Several high-profile comics and other celebs mourned the loss of May on social media.

"I will miss his laugh, his generosity to fellow comedians, his trademark orneriness and his enormous love of life", his manager, Judi Marmel, told TMZ. "Dammit. You were a amusing and sweet mofo man. Rest In Peace". Damnit." Additionally, Ken Jeong wrote, "this hurts too much.

"We are grieved to learn of the passing of comedian Ralphie May today". So insane. RIP Ralphie. You my friend were one of the nicest and kindest out there. I'm truly saddened by this. Ralphie was a good guy & a very amusing person.
