Giants suspend CB Rodgers-Cromartie

Somehow things are getting worse: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie got suspended by the team Wednesday for what amounts to going AWOL. The cornerback came to the facility Wednesday and left the team without practicing.

When asked further questions, McAdoo repeatedly declined to give any more information on the suspension, including the subject of his conversation with Rodgers-Cromartie and the length of the suspension.

Anderson also reported that Rodgers-Cromartie said he was suspended "way before" he left the team. "He came in today, made a decision to leave. we will suspend him".

The Giants (0-5) are dealing with the fallout of not only a lost season that began with so much promise, but the emotional blows of season-ending surgeries this week for Odell Beckham Jr. "For that, we'll suspend him". Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com reports that he's unhappy with that arrangement and it seems that dissatisfaction has bubbled over.

Rodgers-Cromartie has been one of the Giants' key defensive players, missing just two games since he arrived in NY. As Jenkins and Apple established themselves as the top two corners, Rodgers-Cromartie was relegated to a slot role in sub packages.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, this rift occurred as a result of some outburst from DRC on the sidelines during Sunday's loss to the Chargers. For a team that had Super Bowl aspirations heading into the year, the 2017 season has been a nightmare from day one.
