Jolt For TDP In Telangana As State President Revanth Reddy Quits

Meanwhile, Revanth has been meeting senior Telangana Congress leaders, who are not too happy at the news of his joining the Congress, and trying to persuade them that he would not be a threat to them. Revanth Reddy has learned to have said that he has respect towards party Chief Chandrababu Naidu and Telugu Desam party.

"My party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu assured me that no decision will be taken against my wishes with regard to forging alliances in Telangana in 2019 polls". Then, he would have to face the question as to why he has not asked for the resignation of other TDP legislators who had defected to the TRS earlier.

Revanth was arrested in the "cash-for-vote" case after he was caught on camera allegedly offering money to a nominated MLA for his vote in the MLC election in 2015.

The Telangana TDP leaders and central committee members called on Chandrababu Naidu at Lake View Guest house after his return from overseas.

He, however, maintained a stoic silence over his future plans and had been saying that he would speak directly with Chandrababu Naidu upon the CM's return from overseas.

Revanth flew down to Vijayawada, visited the Kanaka Durga temple and came to the CM's camp office for the meeting.

The meeting held at Lake View guest was attended by TTDP president L Ramana, MLA R Krishnaiah, Ravula Chandrasekhara Reddy, Motkupally Narasimhulu, Sitakka, Garikpati Venkateshwar Rao, Nama Nageshwar Rao, Uma Madhav Reddy, Revuri Prakash Reddy, Arvind Kumar Goud and others. Later he handed over his resignation letter to Naidu's secretary before leaving for Hyderabad.
