Rapper Nelly Arrested for Sexual Assault in Wash

In April 2015, Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes Jr., was arrested for felony possession of drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

TMZ reports the alleged rape happened in Auburn, Washington, where Nelly performed.

The 42-year-old musician, who had just been performing at the White River Amphitheatre in the area, was arrested and taken into custody less than an hour later.

Auburn police had no further details to release, the statement said.

Online with a comment from his Attorney Scott Rosenblum, saying: "Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation".

Officers said Nelly went to Seattle afterwards and the woman returned with him and called police about 3:45 a.m. alleging the assault occurred on his bus.

Though he is now touring, Nelly has not released any new music since 2013.

Nelly's rep has not yet responded to the allegations.

KCPQ reported he was facing a charge of second degree rape. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. A long court battle could be forthcoming with Nelly facing jail time or there could be an out of court settlement. His success continued with the follow-up, "Nellyville", which included the hit tracks, "Hot In Herre" and "Dilemma", feat.
