Sylvester Stallone Announces He Will Direct Michael B

Michael B. Stallone is not only reprising his role as Rocky for the eighth time, he'll also write and direct the sequel! He takes over directing duties from Ryan Coogler, who helmed the first film.

The sequel was confirmed via Stallone in a previous Instagram post from September 1st. "There's a lot there." . Rocky Balboa himself, Sylvester Stallone, has announced he will helm the much-anticipated sequel. This is the sure fire way to go from oscar nominated to razzie winning. Another photo on Instagram showed him and Jordan training with the caption, "Getting stronger!"

Stallone starred alongside Jordan in Creed, which was a continuation of the Rocky story that shifts the focus to Jordan's Adonis "Donny" Creed, son of Rocky Balboa's viral-turned-friend Apollo Creed. The movie made $173.6 million at the worldwide box office.

He has since teased the return of Ivan Drago, Rocky's Russian competitor in Rocky IV.

For his part, Coogler has become one of the busiest and most sought after directors in Hollywood since the success of "Creed". Post-"Creed", he's signed on to direct Marvel's first black superhero movie "Black Panther" which reunites him with Jordan.
