Why Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher aren't giving their kids Christmas gifts

Why Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher aren't giving their kids Christmas gifts

With her upbeat attitude and determination, Kunis (along with Kutcher) is raising children who will be an asset to the future.

"No presents for the kids", she told ET.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Kunis has revealed she doesn't want her two young children growing up with a lavish lifestyle.

Kunis, who shares Wyatt and Dimitri with husband Ashton Kutcher, also opened up about her tendency to overreact.

Kunis said she and Kutcher have asked their parents to limit the number of gifts they purchase for their grandchildren to one.

"We're instituting it this year because when the kids are [younger than] 1, it doesn't really matter".

But she appreciated the inclusive and "magical" qualities of Christmas once she moved to America, and says her focus on the holidays is all on spending it as a family. Past year when we celebrated Christmas, [our daughter] Wyatt was 2 and it was too much.

"We've told our parents: "We're begging you - if you have to give her something, pick one gift", she said.

On a more serious note, she added: "It's so important because we both came from pretty solid poverty backgrounds and grew up very poor and are very much self-made and are very aware of what a dollar is worth", she added. "Whether it's Easter, which we've now all accepted into our Jewish household, or Christmas, it doesn't matter", said Kunis. The kid no longer appreciates the one gift.

That's the family's newest way to celebrate the time for good cheer.

"Yeah, we're not gonna raise a***holes!" she said.

Kunis said they don't even know what they're expecting; they're just expecting stuff.

The couple says they are not planning to buy their children presents this year.
