A very Alexa Christmas at Whole Foods

Over 100 Whole Foods stores will be offering Amazon-related offers, with pop-up stores dedicated to Amazon items being introduced for a brief time at Illinois, Michigan, Florida, California, and Colorado from November 13. Amazon has been expanding its brick-and-mortar presence: It recently opened shops inside some Kohl's department stores and it has opened a dozen brick-and-mortar bookstores.

Get ready to pick up a Fire TV stick with your organic granola: Amazon will use its newly acquired Whole Foods storefronts to sell Fire TV devices, Echo speakers and Kindle e-readers this holiday season, the company announced Friday.

Whole Foods and Amazon said they planned to promote several of the devices at $20 to $30 off, starting Thanksgiving week. The deals include even the brand new Amazon Echo Plus.

The pop-up shops will be manned by Amazon employees, who can tell you more about Prime and Prime video exclusives.

Meanwhile The Wall Street Journal reported this week that Amazon has consolidated its physical retail and fast-delivery operations under a veteran lieutenant of Chief Executive Jeff Bezos, as it integrates its new Whole Foods Market unit with related businesses.

Some of those in-store deals will be happening courtesy of Amazon, which plans to offer some discounted items in Whole Foods stores.
