Arsene Wenger Confirms Arsenal Star Will Miss Trip to Burnley This Weekend

Burnley have been flying high this season, and they are looking like a very good team this campaign.

"They have won games with 25 per cent or 30 per cent possession".

The fans were up for it, under pressure to perform, they rub their faces in it.

It's not unusual to see certain teams piece together surprising runs of form at the beginning of any Premier League season, but there's a sense this could be more as Dyche's side sit level with sixth-placed Arsenal after 12 games. While the ex-Montpellier forward has started more games on the subsitutes bench recently, he's still scored seven headers since August 2016, a stat which makes him the league's most clinical player in the air.

"This time I didn't want to take that gamble".

However, it is unlikely that he will start, given the form displayed last weekend by Alexis Sanchez, Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil.

The Clarets haven't recorded a top flight win over the Gunners since 1974 but welcome back Chris Wood into the squad following his long-distance travels with New Zealand during the global break.

Laurent Koscielny scored against Burnley last season.

"I'm really pleased with how the team is performing at the moment".

"Dean Marney and Jon Walters are getting fitter and stronger all the time".

Spurs however did respond well to the defeat by beating Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League this week to book their place in the last 16 of Europe's Premier club competition.

That North London Derby was maybe Arsenal's best performance of this season, and given who played against Köln in the Europa League on Thursday and who got the day off, we can probably expect a similar lineup to the one that played against Tottenham at the Emirates.

Burnley have earned half of their points at home this season and have conceded only twice in six league outings at Turf Moor, while Arsenal have taken only four of their 22 points in away territory. Only Eden Hazard (343) is above the German (310) in this category in the competition since his debut in September 2013.

Olivier Giroud has been used as a substitute on 10 occasions in the Premier League this season; more often than any other player.

The match is not being televised in the United Kingdom and kicks off at 14:00 GMT.
