Condrey later went into more detail on reddit, where he confirmed Call of Duty: WW2 accidentally launched with 2XP active, and the double XP event pushed it up to 3XP.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg explained, while speaking to Newsweek, that Activision wanted to return to the WWII focus of the series's beginning, despite Sledgehammer wanting to make a sequel to the popular and well-received Advanced Warfare.

Is Call of Duty: WWII your game? Despite the first major patch for the game, players are still experiencing online connectivity issues and the Headquarters social space isn't working as intended. Sledgehammer Games detailed may other fixes and issues they are aware of on its official website including problems with headquarters, servers disconnections.

Last week, Sledgehammer Games released a patch and implemented additional measures in an effort to improve connection issues with Call of Duty: WWII. Overall, the game is stable, however we know that P2P brings things like Host Migrations and other issues that make for inconsistent gameplay experiences.

Because of this the developers are working to get dedicated servers with a number of them already being tested this past weekend with plans to expand as they analyse the results of these tests. We've begun to test dedicated servers today in the US.

"This weekend we rolled out various test solutions in limited markets in order to fully analyse real-world conditions without risking disruption", the post continues.

Although originally launched with dedicated servers and a bustling social Headquarters feature, most PS4 & Xbox One users are left asking, "Why Am I alone in Headquarters?" In addition, the Sledgehammer engineering team believes it found the issue behind disconnects resulting in lost game stats.

"We're proud to pay tribute to these incredible heroes and want to invite the entire gaming community to celebrate their heroism and living memories. So hang in there while we address the most pressing concerns first", said Sledgehammer.

The PC title update is also ready, but it'll take a bit longer before it's released so that they can work through the other issues first.
