Galaxy A5 with Infinity Display teased in benchmarks

The Infinity Display is one of the nicest aspects of the Galaxy S8 (Amazon, $718.99) and Samsung feels that other devices in its smartphone portfolio should get a test of this near edge-to-edge display. However, in June this year, a report coming from ETNews Korea said that Qualcomm has chosen to work with TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) in order to work on chipsets with 7nm process.

Some may speculate that the alleged small-sized smartphone Infinity Display could be the Galaxy A3 (2018). The Galaxy J3 (2017) came with model number SM-J330F, so it is safe to assume that the device could possibly be the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) or perhaps its variant. This is purely speculation, but it would be odd for Samsung to bring the Infinity Display to the Galaxy A5 without doing the same for its larger Galaxy A7 counterpart. Just yesterday, the Galaxy A5 (2018) is spotted on the HTML5test website. The fingerprint sensor, for example, is located below the camera instead of next to it.

However, there are some reports that the Infinity Display that will be used for the Galaxy A5 will not be curved.

Gaming is of particular note, as the patent also lists a Nintendo 3DS-like interface for gaming on the Galaxy X. This includes a separate screen for controls, and using both screen for better gaming immersion.

Meanwhile, in January this year, Samsung had launched a variant called Galaxy J3 (2017) Emerge for the U.S. market that came with the model number SM-J327.

Samsung has unveiled a new processor that might be powering its upcoming flagship smartphone, likely to be called as the "Galaxy S9".

Anyway, Samsung has also thought of some interesting uses for the second screen when the phone is folded.
