Razer Reveals New Gaming Phone; 1337 Special Edition Units Available

The Razer phone is finally here, creating a segment in the process where none existed, that of a gaming phone. Razer has worked on it and had made it into an advantage by including dual firing front speakers providing the best audio, not only during gaming but also for music and when watching videos on the large, lovely display. "Razer has produced something that is a step ahead of any other mobile gaming device and I am delighted to be able to make this exclusive experience available to Three's customers". Furthermore, we are committed to enhancing the lives of our customers by continuing to provide the latest technology innovations enhanced by our All You Can Eat data packages. It packs high-end specs into an Android-based device that's focused on mobile gaming. Prices start at €99 on 3 Unlimited Flex Max (€60/ month price plan).

Like the iPhone 7, Razer has ditched the headphone jack giving the music an "audiophile-quality" sound.

But depending on how you hold phone your thumbs are still likely to cover those lovely speakers. However, the Razer Phone's speakers lack a solid bass response, and tend to crack and distort pretty noticeably at near-maximum volume - which is a good thing that it's louder than most flagships even at only 50 per cent volume. The 5.72-inch LCD screen is designed for no lag or stuttering while producing clear and colorful images. Instead, you can plug headphones in via the Type-C USB port and a 3.5mm-to-Type-C adaptor is bundled-in with the phone.

This is complemented by a 4,000mAh battery to ensure long playing times.

For a gaming-focused phone, one would expect plenty of RAM, and that's exactly what Razer did by putting 8 GB inside the phone, making it one of the extremely few phones to offer that much.

Razer Phone makes for an interesting choice in the high-end phone segment given its high-end performance to support gaming while still offering nearly all that one would expect of a flagship phone. Its dual-camera system, on the other hand, is still largely a mystery - it remains to be seen just how capable Razer is when it comes to smartphone photography.

Razer has also partnered with gaming companies like Square Enix to bring gaming to the phone, with games like Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, Gear.Club, Old School Runescape, and Tekken all being part of their various partnerships.

For gamers, the specs surely are attractive, but if we talk about the look and design of the phone, it appears that it was not in the priority list of the company.

The Razer Phone is not yet available for purchase, but you can sign up to "be in the know" at the source link below.
