Why Tom Brady Was So Impressed With Martellus Bennett After Patriots-Broncos

The tale of Martellus Bennett took a weird turn over the last week.

Now formerly a member of the Green Bay Packers, veteran tight end Martellus Bennett is currently gearing up for his second go-round with the heralded New England Patriots.

Nelson's post comes after Bennett-whom the Packers waived for failing to disclose a medical condition, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN-said Green Bay chose to part ways with him only after he made a decision to undergo surgery on his shoulder (which he hasn't yet). "And then after trying to get it fixed and getting waived, you got that vengeance in your heart".

"I talked to six or seven doctors about it, and it could go either way, and it was one of those things that I felt like should get fixed", Bennett said. "After trying to persuade me to play thru a major injury and me choosing to get surgery".

The tight end reportedly told the Packers he needed surgery, was released by the team for failing to disclose an injury, was picked up by the Patriots on Thursday, and was on the field catching passes a few days later.

Bennett's snap count was severely limited last night. Rowe has been dealing with a groin injury for quite some time and Marsh was listed as questionable with a shoulder injury.

"It's not about, "Could you play?' It's, 'Should you play?' It was one of those things", Bennett explained". You're just kind of like, 'All right, that's how you're going to do it? In the end, however, he couldn't say no to Bill Belichick.

Bennett's relationship with the Packers has obviously soured, and there's likely to be even more animosity in the future. He was talking to companies like Netflix about taking a desk job for the remainder of the season while he recovered from surgery and had already accepted his fate. Planned to undergo surgery.

Bennett said he landed at 2:30 Friday morning, checked into his hotel and had to arrive at Gillette Stadium at 5:45 a.m. Patriots coach Bill Belichick did it anyway. "You know wtf was up", he said.

Green Bay's quarterback said in his statement about the team's doctor: "I've been working with Dr. McKenzie for 13 years, and as well as being a phenomenal doctor, he's also become a close friend". Give me a chance to think about it and regroup.' Because I don't even know if I went through the seven stages of grief yet.
