Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Direct Shows New Trailer, Gameplay

Additional details regarding contents of the Expansion Pass will be released at a later date.

A day-one DLC was announced during the stream which will allow players in English-speaking territories to hear the original Japanese voice-acting with English subtitles rather than hearing the English voice-acting, if they should so choose. These include various items that will help you on your journey, an expanded main quest line, a new weapon, a new challenge battle mode, and a brand-new story and adventure. It will be available on December 1, 2017 for Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

The second big announcement was the inclusion of an expansion pass. Nintendo hasn't revealed the price for the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 expansion pass quite yet, but in the past, they've always been $19.99.

One thing fans weren't expecting was the last tidbit Nintendo added at the end of the presentation: a roadmap for Xenoblade Chronicle 2's downloadable content, which is planned through fall 2018. To help familiarize fans with main character Rex before the game launches, a new Side Quest will be available via a free update in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game for both Nintendo Switch and Wii U systems, in which players will be able to obtain a Rex costume starting on November 9. Main character Rex is a Driver and Pyra is a Blade. Blades have a wide array of support abilities that can affect the number of items that can be collected, open up new paths to explore or initiate other special effects. You can pre-purchase it today just like the game, and over the next year it'll make the expectedly massive base game grow even more. Breath of the Wild is getting some cross promotional DLC which includes new gear for Link.

And the good news for Nintendo Switch owners doesn't stop there.

It will launch alongside a brand new Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and a Collector's Edition.

It's not now known what the quest will entail, how it will be unlocked, or even if it will require an update to the game, but we'll be sure to keep you posted when we know more.

We've also yet another Expansion Pass coming for a big Switch title.
