Xiaomi Redmi 5 Specifications Accidentally Leaked by China Telecom

Redmi India also has been teasing on its official Twitter handle for the past few days with #DeshKaSmartphone hashtag regarding its upcoming launch. And like the previously leaked images reveal, the new one also show off an 18:9 touchscreen for the Redmi 5. There have been some speculations that this is actually the Redmi 5A.

Spotted by Fonearena, the listing shows the metal handsets featuring a fingerprint sensor at the back along with a slight camera bump. The listing on the TENAA sites tipped readers off that the Redmi Note 5 would also have a 4000mAh battery which is slightly smaller than the 4100mAh battery that was available with the Redmi Note 4. The phone first came with Android Marshmallow, but can now be upgraded to Nougat. One of the devices in question seems to be the Redmi 5, featuring a tall display with slim bezels.

The Redmi 5 is said to be powered by Qualcomm's MSM8953 "lite" system-on-chip, better known as the Snapdragon 625 (seen on the Redmi Note 4, Mi Max 2, Mi A1 and others). The Redmi 5 may come in three storage+RAM variants - 2GB+16GB, 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. There are no words on if the storage can be expanded with a microSD card or not. The device might run Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS out of the box.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus received TENAA certification more than a month ago. But, surprisingly, the camera department may not see much difference compared to the Redmi 4. The leak suggests that the Redmi 5 will come with a 12-megapixel sensor at the back, while on the front the phone will come with a 5-megapixel camera setup. The Redmi 5 Plus might have a bigger 3790mAh battery. The device is expected to be powered by a 3000mAh battery.

Leaks about the upcoming Redmi smartphones have poured in abundance including images and specification sheets. According to past rumours, the handset could sport a 5.9-inch FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. As per the leaked images, it will have a 3.5mm headphone jack on top and a micro-USB port at the bottom.

Moreover, another brand new Redmi phone namely "Desh Ka Smartphone" is all set to hit the market on November 30. Latest reports now reveal that the smartphone being teased as the "Desh Ka Smartphone" will be a Flipkart exclusive.
