5.5 magnitude quake jolts North India

A strong natural disaster of magnitude 5.0 was felt in New Delhi on Wednesday evening.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the natural disaster of 5.5 magnitude occurred at 8:49 p.m.

According to reports, medium intensity tremours were felt in Gurgaon, Noida and adjoining areas of Delhi for almost three seconds.

The epicenter of the moderate intensity quake was reported 121 km east of Dehradun, in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district.

The strong tremors have jolted whole North India with the intensity of 5.5 on the Ritcher scale. The tremors were felt in Dehradun, Sonipat and Ghaziabad also. In the last 24 hours this is the second quake in Uttarakhand. No loss of life or property was, however, reported from anywhere.

EMSC located the epicentre between the hill shrine of Kedarnath and the town of Pipalkoti in Uttarakhand.
