If you're affected by this issue, the best fix appears to be disabling notifications from any apps that use the local settings (turning all notifications off also works).

ANOTHER issue popped up to challenge Apple's software engineers when users on Twitter and Reddit posted about their iPhones crashing on December 2. The latter allows users to send and receive payments using the iMessage app. Apple Pay Cash is only available in the USA, though it has not been activated in the country.

Fix aside, the update is a significant one because it introduces fast wireless charging for the iPhone X and 8 models, live wallpapers for the X, and, for United States users, Apple Pay Cash capabilities.

Try to update your device to iOS 11.2. With all the new features inside the last update, such as the Notification Center, the unified Lock Screen, customizable Control Panel and a lot more features for iPads.

iOS 11.2 is the seventh update to iOS 11 following iOS 11.0.1, iOS 11.0.2, iOS 11.0.3, iOS 11.1, iOS 11.1.1 and iOS 11.1.2.

Repeat for all the apps you want to disable.

The update is available on the iPhone 5s and later, the iPad mini 2 and later, the iPad Air and later, and the 6th-generation iPod touch.

It claimed that Apple is aware of the issue and is working on a fix for a future patch to iOS 11.

Apple on its website urged users to turn off notifications for all apps on Apple devices before updating the device to iOS 11.2.

A bug in iOS 11 caused some iPhones to crash early Saturday as the calendar changed to December 2. iMore's Rene Ritchie suggests that Apple Pay Cash will launch early next week, likely when iOS 11.2 was originally slated to be released. It comes down to going into Settings Notifications and setting "Allow Notifications" to off for each app. "This was really bad", wrote Reddit user KarlKrum.

Apple has already issued a fix.
