Jets starting LB Darron Lee a healthy scratch against Chiefs

Kansas City cornerback Marcus Peters had a meltdown late in a one-possession game after a penalty was called against the Chiefs on a failed New York Jets two-point conversion. But the Chiefs' defense collapsed, allowing nearly 500 yards to the Jets.

Josh McCown and the Jets pulled out the win against the Chiefs. They extended that to 30-24 on a Chandler Catanzaro field goal with 11:23 remaining. On Sunday, it was the Chiefs who lost their composure down the stretch.

In an identical situation to last week, the Jets had a first and goal at the one yard line late in the first quarter. When the Jets went for two, the Chiefs were called for holding. Later, on 3rd-and-4, Kansas City gifted the Jets another first down on a defensive holding.

There was no specific reason that Lee is not playing, but coach Todd Bowles is expected to address the issue during his postgame news conference. The Jets converted two on their second try thanks to a pitch to Elijah McGuire.

Jermaine Kearse set up the game-winning touchdown with a 51-yard catch and run on third down earlier in the drive.

McCown passed for 331 yards on the day with three combined touchdowns to pace the Jets as they delivered the Chiefs a sixth loss in their last seven games.
