John Mayer Rushed to the Hospital for Emergency Appendectomy

Sources tell us he's in surgery right now.

Singer-songwriter John Mayer has been taken to hospital to undergo an emergency appendectomy, which has left his band Dead & Company to cancel one of their U.S. shows.

This early morning, December 5, the star was taken to a local medical center in order to undergo an emergency appendectomy after he started feeling very ill.

Rock singer-songwriter John Mayer on Tuesday went into emergency surgery for removal of his appendix, forcing his band featuring former members of the Grateful Dead to postpone a show.

Dead & Company is now next scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL.

The band's official Twitter account broke the news of Mayer's health issue early Tuesday.

But what about the many fans who were looking forward to the concert this evening and were already in possession of the tickets?

"All tickets for the December 5 show will be honored for the rescheduled date".

Ticketholders can also seek a refund at point of purchase, according to the band's social media account.

Fellow bandmates Oteil Burbridge tweeted his well wishes, "John, get well soon brother!" while Bill Kreutzmann added, "Wishing you well John!"
