Compared to its competition - Nokia 2 and Bharat 5 which come with 1GB RAM paired with Snapdragon 212 or a 1.3GHz quad-core processor - the Redmi 5A comes with the highly efficient 425 SoC paired with 2/3GB of RAM. Xiaomi has taken care of it with the Redmi 5A, giving it a dedicated microSD card slot apart from the dualSIM slots.

Xiaomi is going to launch the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones at a press event on December 7. Price tagged with just Rs 4,999 Redmi 5A, dubbed as Desk Ka Smartphone, is a smartphone in a true sense, unlike many other 4G enabled smart feature phones, debuted recently.

The only drawback of this offer is the benefit of Rs 1,000 would be available only after a year and potential customers will have to pay full Rs 4,999 upfront to buy Redmi 5A. Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Dark Grey colour options. The device has been launched in two variants - one with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space and the other with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space. Based on the recent reports, the Chinese handset maker is also gearing up for the release of Xiaomi Redmi 5, which is further supported by a leaked listing from a Chinese telecommunications company.

The Redmi 5A again looks to be the victor here as it comes sporting a 13-megapixel camera on the backwith f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus and LED flash. The camera has many modes such as Watermark, Time Lapse, Bokeh and Beauty Mode.

At the back there is a 13MP camera with LED Flash on Redmi 5A and on the front, there is a 5MP front camera for selfies. At the front, the device flaunts a 5MP selfie camera with modes and a 83.3-degree wide-angle lens. On Thursday it has launched the budget Redmi 5A Smartphone in our country priced at Rs.5, 999 and Rs.7,999.

A 3000mAh battery powers the Redmi 5A and it is touted to provide up to 8 days of standby time to the smartphone.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A smartphone features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels.

Coming to the battery, the Bharat 5 comes with a massive 5000mAh battery while the Nokia 2 which boasts of a "two-day" owing to its large 4,100mAh pack under the hood. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, and run the Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 operating system. Connectivity options are- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio-jack, Micro-USB and Global Positioning System.

Micromax Bharat 5 costs Rs 5,555.
