OMG: Pizza Hut Will Soon Be Delivering Wine With Your Pie

The move by Pizza Hut is its latest attempt to increase its sales.

Beginning with the very lucky Phoenix, Arizona, six-packs of Anheuser-Busch brands - including Budweiser, Bud Light and Shock Top and Kilt Lifter, which is made by Arizona-based craft brewer Four Peaks - will slowly start to be tested out in delivery for a flat fee of $10.99.

Pizza Hut announced Tuesday it will start testing beer and wine delivery in certain cities, according to CNNMoney. Pizza Hut plans to expand to wine in January and is exploring both single serving and full bottle options. The pizza chain's parent company, Yum!

The delivery of beer and wine could provide Pizza Hut with a decided edge.

The inclusion of alcohol may help the pizza chain in its competition with others like Papa John's or Domino's, which only offer water and soft drinks for delivery.

The different Pizza Hut locations will need licenses to distribute alcohol, although the company said that many of its locations already are equipped with a license. Lastly, you will need to show ID upon delivery, so rowdy teens can not order a bunch of beer and expect to get it with no trouble. All drivers who deliver the alcoholic beverages will be at least 21 years old and they'll also make sure to check the customer's identification for age as well.
