Playing the fictional character Jake Byrd, Barbieri appeared in the crowd shouting his support for Moore while others heckled and interrupted the candidate's speech.

"Tune in to JKL tonight for a fun li'l trip to the heart of Dicksy", Barbieri wrote in an Instagram post showing him pointing at Moore.

Moore is now firing back.

Speaking from a pulpit at Magnolia Springs Baptist Church in Theodore, Alabama, Wednesday night, Moore said "they" are promoting a false and malicious narrative in order to keep his conservative Christian views out of politics.

Moore also attached a link to an "Exclusive" Breitbart piece in which a senior campaign advisor to Moore also used the "man to man" line while claiming that "Hollywood will not bully us around".

"They're kicking out your number one fan, judge." he said to Moore as he was being led out.

While much of the Republican establishment in Washington has stood firmly against Moore, Trump and his allies are beginning to engage. "They've tried unsuccessfully to change that".

"Who are they? The liberals". They are socialists who want to change our way of life.

Moore then referenced reports of sexual misconduct brought against him. "I want you to think about that for a second, how does a man in his thirties get on a watch list at the mall?"

Moore, who faces off against Democrat Doug Jones on December 12, did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment.

"I would remind everyone again that this is a worship service", Gonnella said.

Moore has fiercely denied misconduct allegations, and denied even knowing Corfman.

"The president is not planning any trip to Alabama at this time, and frankly his schedule doesn't permit him to do anything between now and election day", White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters on Monday. Moore and Democratic candidate Doug Jones are vying for the U.S. Senate seat that was vacated by Jeff Sessions when he was appointed attorney general.
