"Acer Swift 7" Is Also The Most Expensive One At CES 2018

While we haven't had a chance to benchmark, the Swift 7, we know that its Intel Y series CPU is likely to offer signifcantly less performance than you'll get on competitors with Intel 8th Gen U Series processors. The new Swift 7 also sports Windows 10, battery life of 10 hours, connectivity through a built-in Intel XMM 4G modem and a Nano Sim card slot and support for eSim systems.

Meet the second generation Acer Swift 7 aka the "world's thinnest laptop", the Taiwanese tech giant's biggest reveal at CES 2018.

Acer's Jerry Kao says that the company is "extremely proud" of creating the world's thinnest laptop.

It should last around 10 hours before requiring a charge too, making it a great choice for customers on the move. Gamers will also benefit from the latest AMD Ryzen™ mobile processors for incredible performance, whether it be for gaming, content creation or multi-tasking applications.

The Acer Spin 3 (above) is a convertible that will go for $599 and up starting February in North America (this month in EMEA starting at €649). The new laptops from Acer have been targeted at the different segments of the market.

Acer's announcements at the CES 2018 press briefing include the new Swift 7. Other highlights include a backlit keyboard, a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchscreen and touchpad, and a unibody aluminum chassis. You can configure memory up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM or 512GB of SSD storage depending on your needs. It also features a 15.6 inch Full HD IPS display which gives exceptionally clear and precise images. Thanks to the powerful 8th Generation Intel Core processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® MX150 graphics, it has the processing and graphics power to handle intensive tasks, content creation, and video streaming. That is considering many laptops nowadays sport much better Intel processors, more RAM and storage space, as well as higher resolution touch screens, at an even better price point. We aren't sure why it hasn't been upgraded to an 8 gen model like the simultaneously launched Acer Spin 3.

The Nitro 5 (AN515-42) starts at $799 and ships in May 2018. The Spin 3 will have prices starting at USD599 (around RM2,390). The Chromebook 11 will appear on North American shelves in April for $249, and in the Europe and Middle-East regions in March for €249.
