Arsenal and Liverpool get a major transfer boost for Ligue 1 star

"Right now, Monaco haven't received any offers from Liverpool or Arsenal or no-one else for Thomas Lemar".

The 22-year-old has been in decent form this season, scoring two goals from 13 league appearances, and both the Gunners and Liverpool are said to be reigniting their interest in the winger.

The Reds and Gunners have always been linked with Lemar after his stunning form last term piqued their interest, and both are plotting moves for the France global as replacements for Philippe Coutinho and Alexis Sanchez respectively. Sources at Monaco indicate that the player has no gentleman's agreement with the club that would allow him to leave this month.

It is stated that Lemar wants to move to Anfield despite interest from Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Lemar is regarded as one of the most exciting young midfielders to have emerged out of France in recent years, thanks largely due to his exploits for Monaco last season.

The former were willing to sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City this summer if they could get Lemar, but the deal fell through.

Monaco, who trail Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain by nine points, have been resistant to the idea of cashing in another of their prized assets during the mid-season window with manager Leonardo Jardim recently insisting his players "understand" the club's position.

Monaco are still unwilling to sell Lemar, but if he pushes for an exit, their hand may be forced, in which case, they will command a £90 million fee for him.

"But", he added, "the transfer window lasts until the end of the month and many things can happen".

Liverpool have already spent a sizeable chunk of any funds by signing Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in a £75 million deal, and the desire to replace Coutinho adequately could also take big investment.
