Camping World to re-open 69 Gander Outdoors stores

The company announced its plan to open 69 locations, including Flint Township, in a news release Thursday, Jan. 4, two days after posting the job openings for positions including sales associate, warehouse specialist and product specialist, on its Web site.

"The goal is to get them opened at the end of May", Mr. Lemonis said in the video.

The first Gander Outdoors store opened on December 13 in Lakeville, Minn.

Gander Mountain died in bankruptcy early previous year but its new owner, Camping World, is reopening about half of the shuttered stores as Gander Outdoors, with numerous same outdoor recreation products.

"In addition to the Fredericksburg location, we are now pursuing other locations for reopening and expansion and expect to announce additional locations and markets in coming weeks".

Gander Mountain went through bankruptcy, however.

At the York location, there will be a public grand opening event and an official-ribbon cutting ceremony with details to come. The sale was approved in May of 2017 after the sporting goods retailer failed under the pressure of online competition.

Marcus Lemonis, star of CNBC's "The Profit," is chairman of Camping World Holdings.

Camping World Holdings, headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois, is the leading outdoor and camping retailer, offering an extensive assortment of recreational vehicles for sale, RV and camping gear, RV maintenance and fix and the industry's broadest and deepest range of services, protection plans, products and resources.

Camping World's careful acquisition of Gander isn't a reflection of limited ambitions. Camping World's stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "CWH".
