Chelsea suffered their third consecutive 0-0 draw (previously drawing with Norwich in the FA Cup and Arsenal in the Carabao Cup) and the performance lacked any ideas, creativity or urgency in attack.

It took less than 15 minutes of the second half for Conte to introduce Pedro and Willian but in taking off Hazard and Fabregas, Chelsea lost their two best attacking threats, and the two players this system is created to benefit.

Ten-man Leicester City frustrated Chelsea in an eventful 0-0 Premier League draw at Stamford Bridge.

Since losing to Man City in September, Chelsea have won each of their last seven home Premier League games, shipping just three goals and keeping five clean sheets in that time.

The 48-year-old said: "I saw a lot of players that looked exhausted".

The Gunners head into the game looking to get back to winning ways in the top flight after their goalless draw with Chelsea in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final clash on Wednesday night.

Chilwell's 68th-minute dismissal for two yellow cards allowed Chelsea to push forwards and Kasper Schmeichel saved Marcos Alonso's stoppage-time free-kick.

Jamie Vardy and his team-mates ran Chelsea ragged in the first half, though. Chelsea's record signing certainly got his Stamford Bridge career off to a good start with six top-flight goals in his first six games, but since then it's increasingly become a case of hit and miss for Morata. "He can still communicate with his players during the match and speak to them at half-time as well".

In search of some inspiration and innovation, Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation when he withdrew Fabregas and Hazard, sending wingers Pedro and Willian onto the field.

"I do not aim high with my requests, especially as in my history I've rarely been given the players I asked for", he said.

The game eventually ended 0-0.

The hosts were handed a boost when Chilwell was shown a second yellow card for catching Moses, but they found it hard to create openings as Leicester sat back.
