Copa del Rey: Barcelona, Real Madrid get quarter-final opponents [Full draw]

Barca were duly handed a clash with Espanyol before Atletico Madrid and Sevilla were paired together.

Lionel Messi was yet again the hero for FC Barcelona as he scored twice against Celta Vigo at Camp Nou on Thursday to send them to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.

New signing Philippe Coutinho watched his team-mates thrash the La Liga outfit as he recovers from injury, and certainly won't feature this weekend.

Barca continued to dominate and bagged a third goal in the 28th minute when Messi turned provider to pick out Alba who converted at the far post.

Suarez netted in the 31st after pouncing on a poor pass by Pione Sisto, before Rakitic nodded home at the end.

The tie petered out in the second half but French global Ousmane Dembele showed why Barcelona paid 105 million euros for him a year ago when he dribbled past three defenders from the half-way line before being denied by a desperate tackle.

As a result, the second half was a boring affair as both sides started saving their strength for the weekend. Ivan Rakitic headed in a corner kick by Dembele in the final minutes to complete the rout.

The French winger even contributed an assist as the Catalans cruised through to the next round after winning 6-1 on aggregate, but was later seen in discomfort as he left the pitch holding the same area as the final whistle sounded at Camp Nou.

Real Madrid, who defeated Numancia 5-2 on aggregate to reach the last eight, will face Leganes, while Atletico Madrid are set to take on Sevilla in the prestigious Spanish contest.
