David Letterman to Interview Barack Obama, JAY-Z on Netflix Talk Show

The booking is a huge win for Letterman and Netflix since it will be Obama's first television talk show appearance since leaving office.

The people he refers to include President Barack Obama, 30 Rock's Tina Fey, ER alum George Clooney, Jay-Z, Howard Stern and Malala Yousafzai, each of whom will appear in one installment of the six-episode first season.

Netflix has revealed the premiere date of "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman", Dave's official return to the spotlight after retiring from his CBS late-night show in 2015. New episodes will roll out monthly.

This screengrab shows a preview of David Letterman (R)'s interview with former United States president Barack Obama which will be shown on Netflix. Obama visited the late-night staple eight times while Letterman was the host - three times while he was president, according to The Hill. So we weren't surprised to learn last summer that David Letterman was putting together an original series for Netflix. The interview will take place inside both a studio and out in the world, and feature in-the-field segments of Letterman on outings related to his guests.

Netfix and Letterman announced plans for the new show back in August, with RadicalMedia and Letterman's Worldwide Pants producing.

Obama is just the beginning for the Netflix-Letterman collaboration.
