Just before CES kicked off, announced its new Alexa Mobile Accessory Kit, in a move to expand the voice assistant to "on-the-go" devices.

At this week's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), digital assistants - voice-activated and AI-driven - were in the spotlight. While the market is dominated by Amazon (70 percent of the market) with its Alexa integrations it seems Google isn't going down without a fight. The new feature will come to Hopper, Joey, and Wally boxes. Ask LG, about their AI-powered speakers...

Adding a digital assistant to a computer is nothing new and how often Alexa, and in what capacity, you'll call upon Alexa on such machines remains to be seen.

These will, importantly, allow users to watch YouTube videos.

That's what the results of a new survey from NPR and Edison Research confirm, as devices like Amazon's Echo and Google's Home continue to grow in popularity. Lenovo, HP and other major personal computer makers announced this week that some new computer models would include the ability to converse with Alexa. Consumers will be able to connect to even more smart products this year including those from Abode, Insteon and Kohler and other brands - letting you check on the laundry, turn the heat up and lock up for the night. "This feature will allow Toyota and Lexus customers in the United States to interact with Alexa in the auto".

The reveal of Google's smart screens is fresh, so all of the details aren't in yet for each of the independent manufacturers. "Amazon is more limited in language capabilities and legacy market penetration for Amazon.com".

Adam Wright, a tech analyst at IDC, agreed that the voice assistant show-down was now a "two-horse race".

Starting later this year, the Assistant is coming to new smart displays from four companies, including JBL, Lenovo, LG and Sony.

It has baked Bixby into TVs, fridges and smartphones among other products - and those are the only places you'll find it.
