LG to unveil its rollabale 65-inch 4K OLED TV

LG's OLED 4K TVs have been getting more powerful and innovative by the year since they first came out and the models of 2017 really impressed with both their specs and in the case of the flagship W7 hanging TV, which we reviewed here with their absolutely unique design. No this is a 65 inch beast of a display with these characteristics and full 4K ultra HD resolution, just like one of LG's excellent normal OLED televisions, except for the whole paper-like design part.

Thanks to the huge internal investment by LG, its annual OLED TV panel shipments are expected to ramp from 1.7 million units past year, to reach 6.5 million in 2020.

A couple of years ago, LG Display showed off an intensely futuristic 18-inch OLED display that could be bent and rolled up just like a newspaper.

"We will firmly establish our position as a leading company by responding to market expectations and providing differentiated value in the rapidly expanding OLED market as well as the existing LCD market", said Dr. Sang-Beom Han, Vice Chairman and CEO of LG Display, in a press statement.

"LG Display's step to start mass production at the new line marks a significant turning point in the lighting industry", said Sung Soo Park, the VP who heads up the OLED Light division at LG Display. With this portable and flexible feature, the 65-inch rollable display can offer users the high-resolution content anytime, anywhere.

In small-sized displays, Samsung and LG's position is reversed as the former controls over 90 percent of the market in OLED display for smartphones.

LG has been leading the way in large-sized and mid-sized OLED displays for TV, auto-components and lighting. LG has also upgraded in the audio category from the current standard 2.1 channel sound to 3.1 channel sound.
