Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar was responsible for six of the goals in his team's incredible 8-0 victory over Dijon on Wednesday.

Since joining PSG, Neymar has scored 24 goals and assisted a further 16 strikes in 23 games.

The Argentine added his fifth Ligue 1 goal of the season after 15 minutes, prodding in from a yard out with Neymar's deft chip over Reynet seemingly drifting narrowly wide, Giovani Lo Celso having won back possession deep in Dijon territory.

Regardless, Neymar slotted home the spot-kick to score his fourth goal and PSG's eighth of the evening.

But once the Brazilian got it going, there was no stopping him.

The crowd chanted "Cavani!"

In fairness to Cavani, he didn't make too much of a fuss of letting Neymar take it but it was the home fans who voiced their feelings, shouting "Cavani, Cavani" as Neymar stepped up.

But BT Sport's French football expert Julian Laurens said the negative reaction will have "upset" the player.

Unfortunately for PSG coach Unai Emery, his side's thrilling demolition of Dijon was partly overshadowed by Neymar's selfishness in denying Cavani his share of the spotlight, but the former Sevilla coach insists all is well in camp.

In total, Neymar tallied 121 touches on the football, attempted 79 passes, and completed seven dribbles.

His first, a direct free kick that left the Dijon goalkeeper dumbstruck, was scored in the 42nd minute.

Neymar passed in his second of the night after 57 minutes, though, with defender Cedric Yambere only able to block a cross directly to the world's most expensive player.

Do you think Neymar should have given the penalty to Cavani?

PSG is next in action on Sunday when it travels to Olympique Lyon for a crucial Ligue 1 game.
