Norwegian PM says Europe on alert about Russian interference

The Washington Post says the White House has not responded to a request for comment on the issue, nor to a question about Trump being a Call of Duty fan.

Trump then detoured into talking about about how Hillary Clinton was treated during the course of the FBI investigation into her emails, before asserting that the whole investigation is "a Democrat hoax that was brought up as an excuse for losing an election".

President Donald Trump said today that the United States could "conceivably" return to the Paris climate accord, although he stopped short of signaling any move in that direction.

It seems like President Trump accidentally mixed up the total number of planes (52) with the actual name of the jets (F-35)-which still makes for a amusing coincidence.

Trump has announced his intent to withdraw from the Paris Agreement, a source of friction with Norway and other allies.

Standing alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Trump presented himself as a champion of environmentalism. "And we are not going to let that happen", he said.

Trump's comments came during a joint news conference with Erna Solberg, the prime minister of Norway.

The treaty included promises made by the USA - by Trump's predecessor Obama - but there will be no legal consequences if they are not kept.

Solberg highlighted another item on Norway's American shopping list: electric cars from Tesla.

The landmark agreement, which entered into force last November, calls on countries to combat climate change and to accelerate and intensify the actions and investments needed for a sustainable low carbon future, and to adapt to the increasing impacts of climate change.

While Solberg defended the Paris treaty, saying the Nordic country was "committed" to it, she did not publicly correct Trump's wrong statements.

"As a neighbouring country we do day-to-day work on things that we have to solve for the people and the economic activity that is in that area, which is a fragile area for the whole world", she said. I think we're going to have a long period of peace.

On the subject of Russia's meddling in the USA election to help Trump, Solberg said there was no evidence that Russian Federation had interfered in Norway's recent elections. Reciprocal trade, which benefits us all.
