Nvidia opens GeForce NOW cloud gaming PC beta

GeForce NOW may be Nvidia's entry into the cloud gaming market, but it will face some stiff competition from the likes of GameFly and PlayStation Now, especially since those services provide unique benefits, such as streaming games on to a smart television or streaming PlayStation exclusive games, respectively.

As always, it is recommended to uninstall the driver completely before installing the new one and to install only the driver for Nvidia graphics cards that you require.

"Indeed, Nvidia claims Freestyle is mostly meant to serve as an outlet for creativity, citing examples like "[creating] a retro war-themed filter for your favorite FPS or [enhancing] color and contrast to make a game look more photorealistic" as possible uses for the new feature.

Nvidia claims the cloud gaming service can stream games with a resolution of 1920x1080 at up to 120 Hz, depending on the level of service requested and the constraints of the end user's PC and internet connection.

Nvidia Freestyle is part of GeForce Experience.

Select a game from our supported list and click "Install". All you have to do is install the GeForce NOW app, then log in and install the games you already own from the list of supported titles onto your virtual GeForce NOW PC. Just be sure to run the latest version of GeForce Experience and the Game Ready Drivers, enable Experimental Features, and you're all set.

Another new feature is support for eGPU. Not only that adds new features, instead, regarding security it adds a layer that helps mitigate the Meltdown and Spectre flaw that was published last week. The driver informs users with pop-ups if an eGPU has been connected or disconnected.
