Police searching for three suspects who robbed convenience store at gunpoint

At about 4 a.m. Tuesday, officers were called to a convenience store at 3410 W. USA 501 in reference to an armed robbery, the release from Sgt. Darren Alston states. The victim wasn't able to get a good look at the 2nd man. Police have video footage of the robbery and the investigation is ongoing.

A witness told investigators that two unknown male suspects wearing dark clothing entered the business through the front door. After one suspect took out a shotgun, the second went up to the counter, knocked down merchandise, and took the cash register. Both ran away towards Lincoln Ave. He was armed with a black automatic-style handgun at the time of the robbery.

A canine unit was on the scene, but was unable to locate any of the suspects. No injuries were reported.

At approximately 7:25 p.m. a robber wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark trousers, black mask and gloves armed with a black pistol entered Z1 Express gas station, located at 650 Second St., and demanded cash.
