Sam Allardyce: Everton 'unprofessional' in 4-0 Spurs defeat

Sam Allardyce: Everton 'unprofessional' in 4-0 Spurs defeat

Harry Kane bagged his second brace against Everton this season as Tottenham Hotspur eased to three points to pile the pressure on Sam Allardyce.

Fair play to Harry Kane, he is showing season after season he could just maybe match Alan Shearer's epic achievements in the Premier League. They added a fourth goal with nine minutes remaining when Christian Eriksen rounded off an excellent attacking move from the London club.

Kane, who ended 2017 as Europe's leading marksman of the year in the top-five leagues, has started 2018 in the same vein but, even while homing in on 100 league goals for Spurs, he remains far behind the 220 notched by the great Greaves.

At the beginning of January, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino backed the club's chairman Daniel Levy to handle Alderweireld's contract situation and pleaded for the fans to trust him. I saw some of the good sides of the players last week and I saw some of their worst sides in the second half today, which is massively worrying in terms. This way, he's going to break all the records in the EPL and in England.

Chelsea missed the chance to move into second place after 10-man Leicester battled to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.

Cenk Tosun is set for his Everton debut against Tottenham, who have an opportunity to put pressure fourth-placed Liverpool, in the late kick-off at Wembley this evening.

West Brom, who kicked off level on points with Swansea, needed just four minutes to take the lead at The Hawthorns when Jonny Evans headed in from a corner.

Craig Dawson secured their first league win since August 19 in the 56th minute with a fine header. Time and time again this season we have seen officials in the Premier League consistently fail to make the correct decisions and it's a huge concern.

Ward-Prowse doubled the Saints' lead shortly before half-time.

The first flashpoint occurred at Vicarage Road where TV replays revealed Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure bundled the ball over the line with his right hand in the 2-2 draw with Southampton.

Allardyce's side are now winless in their last five Premier League games and have lost their last three. I should have got back to being a bit more boring and a bit less adventurous. "To live this injustice is really hard".

Reflecting on his new record, Kane, 24, said: "I always say, it is something I'm very proud of but it's on to the next one, we've got to keep going".

Bakary Sako scored as Crystal Palace beat Burnley 1-0, while West Ham United won 4-1 away to Huddersfield Town.
