Switch is the Fastest Selling Console in US History

The hybrid console has been on the market for less than a year and has not only blown past the sales of Wii in that time, itself an enormous success, but cemented itself as the fastest selling console of all-time in the United States.

Apart from the best performance in the U.S., Nintendo sold almost 10 million units across the world in first nine months of its release, according to official figures.

"Fans across the country have experienced the joy of playing their favorite games at home or on the go", said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's President and COO. With the lackluster performance of the Wii U, we are ecstatic and proud of Nintendo for bringing themselves back up with the success of the Switch.

Nintendo also sold almost 3.3 million units in Japan in its first year on the market in the company's home country.

But it's not just hardware sales that are on a roll as first-party games seem to dominate the system's offerings. Not only did we get two of the finest entries in their respective franchises with Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, but pitch-perfect sequels like Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 managed to ensnare far wider audiences that were available on the doomed Wii U. The game has since earned numerous game of the year awards for 2017.

"This solution will work on ANY Nintendo Switch console regardless of the now installed firmware, and will be completely future proof". Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also surpassed 50% ownership rate.

There are now over 300 third-party titles available for the Switch ranging from compelling indies to jaw-dropping AAAs.
