Texas journalist missing after telling roommate man was following her

Officials with Houston police had not confirmed the missing person's report as of late Sunday.

Roland was supposed to meet with the roommate later but did not show, Click 2 Houston reports.

Family and friends are desperately searching for a missing sports reporter who hasn't been heard from since messaging her roommate to say she was being followed by a "suspicious man".

The man following her was driving a blue truck, according to the reports, which provide details about the vehicle Roland was driving: It's a 2015 Silver Jeep Cherokee with license plate HZC7778.

Roland is a writer for and in the Houston area. Her friend told KAGS Courtney texted her that the truck followed her to her apartment, drove around the block, and then came back, parking directly behind her. Courtney then told friends she exited her auto and the other driver was "scared off".

Courtney Roland went missing after covering a Texas A&M elite football camp in The Heights area of Houston, her family said in social media posts appealing for help in finding her. The truck looped around and parked behind her vehicle when Roland parked her auto in the driveway of her house. After leaving her home, she hasn't been heard from since. She was last seen wearing a Remington hat and camouflage and driving a 2010 white Jeep Cherokee.

Roland was last seen at 11:50 p.m. local time Saturday, Vara said.
