TRACKING: Flood Watch, Winter Weather Advisory issued for region

Temperatures will fall into the lower 30s and below freezing early tonight, with a transition to all snow overnight.

The National Weather Service also has issued flood watches from Kentucky to ME, with over 30 million people under the threat of flooding from heavy rain and snow melt. Motorists should do their part by making sure they have ample tire tread and by slowing down to meet localized driving conditions.

But there is one key difference, based on the amount of time the rain spends before hitting the ground in that span of freezing degrees, the National Weather Service explains.

As the low pressure system moves up from the south, it will keep snow ongoing into the afternoon hours. Thursday will start out quiet, but snow will increase through the western part of the state in the morning, making it through central Montana by the afternoon. The weather service also advised that the "main story this weekend will be the arrival of much colder air".

Rain, sleet, heavy snow, and freezing rain are all possible Friday night into Saturday morning. Cloudy, with a high near 33.

Winter Weather Advisory Bradford, Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wayne Counties from 9 PM Friday until 4 PM Saturday.

Additionally, several events have been canceled, including the movie night at the Capitol Arts Center Friday and the 20th annual Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday.

Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 16. The low will fall into the upper teens. There's a chance of snow on Sunday and Monday.

Take it slow, especially when approaching intersections, ramps, bridges and shady areas.

Hopefully everyone has finished clearing the snow which piled up during Winter Storm Grayson, because Grayson's big brother, Winter Storm Hunter, is fast approaching.
