Ubisoft Explains Rainbow Six Siege Price Increase

The Advanced Edition will include all the things in the Standard Edition, plus 600 Rainbow Six Credits and 10 Outbreak Collection packs.

Xbox One X and PS4 Pro support for the game is on Ubisoft's roadmap, although it's now unknown when the patches will arrive. With Operation Chimera right around the corner, the game along with most of its various editions are getting a price increase. Outbreak packs will be sold for 300 R6 Credits, though "a few other Outbreak rewards will be available through gameplay".

Here's everything we know about Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak so far.

Ubisoft teased a new limited-time event for "Rainbow Six Siege" together with some changes to its retail versions. In addition to the Gold Edition content, the Complete Edition contains 16 bonus operators from the year one and year two content. Most of the questions surrounded how and if the new outbreak packs would be added to existing Gold or Complete Edition owners, which isn't planned.

Ubisoft, the developer and publisher of the FPS, has announced that they have seen the concerns of players for the game and have made a decision to keep the price of the Standard Edition of "Rainbow Six Siege" to $40 instead of raising it to the planned $60.

In an announcement on the official blog, Ubisoft confirmed that the Standard Edition of Rainbow Six Siege is being discontinued from February 13th 2018 - though, naturally, will still be playable for anyone who has a copy of the game beyond that point.

Ubisoft's Tactical shooter game Rainbow Six: Siege has had an interesting 2017.

As you'd expect, new cosmetic items will be available in conjunction with the event. "I bought the $100 complete edition and the $30 year three pass and the people who are going to buy the $60 version are going to get ten more packs than me".

As such, Ubisoft will then be giving a free Ash Sidewinder Elite skin to those who played before March 6. While many were unhappy with news of the update, Ubisoft's response was quick and addressed concerns. This free event will begin with the launch of the Year 3 Season 1 title update.

For our newcomers and those of you concerned about introducing your friends to the game, we will be keeping the Standard Edition in the store at the current price.

The structure of Rainbow Six Siege's pricing has been the subject of a lot of debate, with the cheaper Starter Edition making the game accessible, but also much harder to obtain new operators in the process.
