There was no place for Europe's top scorer for club and country Harry Kane, or Neymar, the world's most expensive player at £200 million.

In goal is Gianluigi Buffon with a back four of Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Giorgio Chiellini and Marcelo.

Sergio Ramos was the most selected player overall, being chosen in 73.7% of the voters' teams, followed by his teammate Marcelo, who appeared in 70% of the best XIs. Cristiano Ronaldo made his 12 appearance in the team, alongside five other Real Madrid players.

At 39-years-old, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon extends his record as the oldest player to make the team while the only other Serie A player included is team-mate Giorgio Chiellini.

UEFA have announced their official 2017 Team of the Year, but Neymar did not make the cut.

The Belgian duo are the only Premier League selections included in the list, with the team dominated by five selections from back-to-back Champions League winners Real Madrid.

Ligue 1's sole representative is PSG's Dani Alves, who returns to the team having received 341,000 votes.
