Westbrook Still Trailing In All-Star Vote After Second Returns

Basically, the argument distilled could be this: we know you're trying to help, but we got this.

With the new All-Star voting format, James and Curry would serve as captains if the voting ended today, and each of them will form their respective teams from the pool of players fans voted in as starters and coaches selected as reserves.

James is proving to still be on the rise as he is averaging 27 points, eight rebounds and nine assists per game this season, and despite being a veteran in the league, he says he still feels "great".

Regardless of who picks the team, Warriors forward Draymond Green wants to make National Basketball Association history by sending four players from the same team to back-to-back All-Star Games. I didn't know if I was ready or not, but I just felt like it was the time. "That will be a deciding factor in how long I want to play".

"I've got a 13-year-old son now; he's in the seventh grade". Voting from the media makes up 25 percent, and voting from the players makes up the other 25 percent. The reserves, as selected by coaches, will come five days later on January 23. Voting will conclude Monday. The two captains will then draft a team based on the pool of players.

In the second wave of fan returns, James polled 1,622,838 votes to edge ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo (1,480,954) in the Eastern Conference and overall. On Fourth is the New York's star KristapsPorzingis (640,928). Houston Rockets' James Harden (978,540) and Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook (791,332) are second and third, respectively. Warriors' do-it-all forward Draymond Green (616,730) is at third, followed by DeMarcus Cousins (587,835). Thomas has just returned from injury, Wade is averaging his lowest points ever as an National Basketball Association player, and Anthony hasn't meshed well with his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates.

The All-Star starters will be announced in one week, on January 18 on TNT.

The fan vote makes up 50 percent of the overall vote for the All-Star Game, which is scheduled February 18 in Los Angeles. The full team rosters will be revealed a week later, January 25 in a special one-hour edition of TNT NBA Tip-Off at 6 p.m. CT.
