Auto Expo 2018: Emflux Motors unveils e-bike prototype

Renault showcased its electric concept cars TREZOR and ZOE e-Sport at the Auto Expo 2018 and said it is awaiting a clear policy and roadmap on infrastructure for electric vehicles to take a long-term strategic decision.

The company has priced Comfort E Auto HS at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex showroom Delhi) and comes with facilities such as central locking and Global Positioning System.

Apart from the new-gen CR-V, Civic and the Amaze, Honda also showcased the Sports EV concept at the Auto Expo 2018 today.

The Atom It is powered by Mahindra's new electric Powertrain which features batteries that can be swapped to extend the vehicle's range, allowing it to operate uninterrupted for long hours.

The first day of the Auto Expo 2018 saw more than 22 OEMs unveiling 65 products and launching 14 models.

He further said the target is to sell 2 lakh units worldwide by 2020 and it will be achieved by entering into new markets like India.

"This includes two face-lifts (of existing models) two new segment (models), four full model changes and one electric vehicle", said Y.K. Koo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India.

Speaking at the event, Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran said Tata Motors is committed to the future of mobility, specially the governments vision in the electric vehicles space.

The company exhibited two concept cars-the H5X and 45X-based on its two-architecture strategy. Thereafter the media contingent moved with clock-work precision and moved onto Honda Cars India.

BMW India launched the first-ever BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo and the sixth generation all-new BMW M5, which were launched by Sachin Tendulkar.

Twenty Two Motors CEO and co-founder Parveen Kharb said: "We are going to start the production with 300 scooters per day and in the first three years we will roll out 2 lakh electric vehicles".

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India unveiled its most extensive product line-up of 11 new models.

Suzuki Motorcycle India unveiled a 125 cc scooter "Burgman Street" along with the introduction of the GSX-S 750 bike at the Expo.

Another two-wheeler manufacturer Piaggio India launched the scooters "Aprilia SR 125" and unveiled the "Aprilia Storm".

Auto Expo 2018 would witness around 24 automobile launches and over 100 unveiling of various products inclusing the two-wheeler and four-wheeler both. The vehicle is also equipped with i3S (idle-start-stop tech) that, up until now, was seen only on Hero motorcycles.

The company, which is a part of Lohia Group, also launched its diesel-driven three-wheeler loader Humsafar 2000 and a passenger vehicle Humsafar DLX at prices of $3030 (INR 1.95 Lakhs) and $2952 (INR 1.90 Lakhs) respectively.
