Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl trailer reveals new footage

Disney has unveiled the latest trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, which pits our beloved superhero team against Thanos - the giant purple dude from the end credits of the first Avengers in 2012. The first trailer for that upcoming Marvel Studios film debuted the hero's new costume, and facial hair, and heavily hinted he would receive a replacement - "Evacuate the city". In the meantime, Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, said Infinity War is "precisely what the fans need".

The new shield resembles the pointy one he had before Howard Stark built him the circular one.

Marvel Studios just dropped the TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War, and it really drives the point home that everything has led up to this point. The design seems to have Wakandan influence with black and silver tones.

Photos have surfaced of some of the latest additions to Hasbro's Marvel Legends toyline, revealing, among other Infinity War merchandise, the new Captain America figure, complete with shield accessory. While the shape would seemingly negate Cap's ability to use the shield as a throwing weapon, it's possible that it possesses hidden capabilities.

The movie hits theaters on May 4.

The first weekend in February is typically when the National Football League host's the Super Bowl and with it, the always-anticipated ads that come with it.

It's the kind of cinematic event that only comes around very rarely, ten years in the making and promising to change everything we've become familiar and besotted with in the MCU.
