Bark Bar to Host "Puppy Bowl"

Bark Bar to Host

No, we are not talking about the Super Bowl 52 matchup between the Patriots and Eagles, but Animal Planet's adorable Puppy Bowl where two canine teams will go nose-to-nose for the coveted "Lombarky Trophy". African grey parrot Meep the Bird will help host, too.

The network worked with 48 different animal shelters and rescue organizations from 26 USA states in putting together the teams for this year's big game, which will feature the most pups in Puppy Bowl history.

On Saturday at 8 p.m., Animal Planet will air its first Dog Bowl, featuring more mature dogs in need of homes. This year's participants come from 48 shelters across 25 USA states and territories that suffered natural disasters in 2017, including Houston, Puerto Rico, and Florida.

This year, the Puppy Bowl is giving back by featuring animals rescued from areas impacted by hurricanes.

Can I adopt Puppy Bowl dogs?

Who is ready for the big game?

There's even a spin-off called "Puppy Bowl Presents: The Dog Bowl" the night before featuring 50 adult dogs in need of homes too. I have a busy household, young kids, and that's what we're trying to let people know. For the seventh year in a row, America's favorite "Rufferee", Dan Schachner, returned to call the puppy penalties, furry fumbles and terrier touchdowns. "They might be the right fit for your family".

"Like they say 'Don't just be merry at Christmas, have it extend throughout the whole year, ' and it's the same idea with Puppy Bowl". Who wouldn't want to help them?

The Austin Humane Society's 11th Annual Puppy Bowl, a football-themed puppy party, is happening from 12 3 p.m.
