Bucks to send SG Rashad Vaughn to Nets

In 42 games for the Nets, Zeller averaged 7.1 points and 4.6 rebounds across 16.7 minutes per game.

Brooklyn is trading Tyler Zeller to Milwaukee, league sources tell ESPN. He is also hitting his shots at a decent percentage, shooting 54.6 percent from the field. Brooklyn signed Zeller to a two-year deal in September, with the second year not being guaranteed, at the time giving the team additional depth at the center position. Statistically speaking, his averages aren't great.

Vaughn has appeared in 22 games for the Bucks, averaging 2.7 points per game, and he's shooting 37.1 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

While not a major move, this works for both parties, as the Bucks free themselves of further commitment from Vaughn, and the Nets get to do some more pick-stashing prior to the trade deadline.

As Wojnarowski puts it, "Milwaukee's 2018 second-round pick to Nets is protected 31-to-47, or Milwaukee sends unprotected second in 2020 if the pick doesn't convey in 2018".

Getting rid of Zeller also gives rookie center Jarrett Allen the starting center role with third-year big man Jahlil Okafor who will serve the backup center role. He did not play in Sunday's game between the Bucks and Nets at the Barclays Center due to a coaching decision. The Nets are tied with the Chicago Bulls for the 12th place in the conference with a record of 19-35 and the Bulls are 18-34.
