Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Coming in 2018, According to Reports

Previously, analyst firm Cowen & Company predicted that the developers over at Treyarch will continue the "Black Ops" subseries by releasing the next "Black Ops" game this year, GameSpot reported.

We recommend that you take Sellars' statements as a rumor and hope that Treyarch or Activision will provide details about it. Interestingly though, this year's installment may pop up on the Nintendo Switch, in addition to the PC, Xbox One and PS4. Multiple sources have confirmed to Eurogamer that Black Ops 4 is actively in development at Treyarch.

This is really an interesting rumor because the last three Call of Duty games from Treyarch has been a new iteration in Black Ops sub-series, I expect them to do something different this time around.

Like clockwork, there will be a new "Call of Duty" game this holiday season.

What Eurogamer can not confirm at this time is whether or not Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will make its way to the Nintendo Switch in addition to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.

The next Call of Duty game in 2018 will be Call of Duty Black Ops 4, according to a self-proclaimed "industry insider". Additionally, he claims that the game will support the Switch's HD Rumble and motion controls, with it also set to receive additional DLC further down the road.

We don't need to see Black Ops 4 go for a carbon copy approach, but we wouldn't object to an emotionally engaging single-play story mode.

It is worth pointing out that this is not the first time that "Black Ops 4" was mentioned as the potential series offering for this year. The Black Ops storyline started with Call of Duty: World at War, which takes place during World War II. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
