Did Iran Just Start A War With Israel?

His statement came after Israel launched Saturday an air attack on military positions in central Syria.

"The IDF sees the Iranian attack and the Syrian response as a severe and irregular violation of Israeli sovereignty", the Israeli Army said. Qasemi went on to say, "Iran only provides military advice to Syria based on the request of the country's legitimate government". Syrian forces in turn responded with what the Israeli military called "substantial Syrian antiaircraft fire", which appears to have caused the crash of an Israeli fighter jet after its two-member crew ejected. At one of these bases, Khmeimim Air Base, not far from the Mediterranean shore, is the Russian command bunker for its forces in Syria, which has a direct line of communication with the Israeli high command.

The analyst further dismissed the possibility that Israel would invade Syria and said it would be very hard for Tel Aviv to wage an "all-out war".

"We consider it necessary to unconditionally respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and other countries of the region", it added.

In September, Israel's military shot down an Iranian-made drone operated by Lebanese militant group Hezbollah on a reconnaissance mission over the Golan.

Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Ministry rejected as "ridiculous" reports that Israel had intercepted an Iranian drone launched from Syria, state TV reported. The Israeli military later released footage that it said showed the drone being brought down by an attack helicopter.

Iran also issued a joint statement alongside the Syrian regime's allies - Russian Federation and Lebanese militant group Hezbollah - denying the allegations regarding the drone. It's unclear whether the warplane crashed or was shot down by Iranian anti-aircraft batteries.

The Israeli airstrikes marked "the biggest and most significant attack the air force has conducted against Syrian air defenses since Operation Peace for the Galilee" in 1982 during the First Lebanon War, the Israeli Air Force's second-in-command Brig.

Eight Israeli aircraft then "targeted the Iranian control systems in Syria that sent the UAV" and confirmed hits, according to Conricus.

The senior commander said the Zionist regime has been created by the U.S. and the United Kingdom, adding the Islamic Republic of Iran began to inflict heavy blows on the USA since early years of the Islamic Revolution. "However, we are not looking to escalate the situation", Conricus posted on his official Twitter feed. Israel has remained silent amid accusations, while Damascus warned the next incursion will be met with heavy anti-aircraft fire, which is what occurred on Shabbos.

The regime said it intercepted the missiles and destroyed a lot of them, according to SANA.

In remarks to the Syrian News Agency (SANA), Turk-Abadi insisted Iran will help Syria resist foreign intervention in their internal affairs and defeat terrorism.
