Facebook Introduces New 'Lists' Feature For Status Updates

Facebook Introduces New 'Lists' Feature For Status Updates

Earlier in January, Facebook had announced a major update where it claimed to put friends and family above pages or celebrities in a user's news feed - and likely result in people spending less time on the leading social network.

Your list can be about anything - your schedule for the day, places you would like to visit or New Year's resolutions, for instance.

Facebook has been encouraging users to share their personal content.

At the time of this article the new list feature is only available on Android powered devices, for users of the iPhone they able to view other lists but can not make their own any yet.

As per the report, Facebook with the introduction of this new feature is trying to add much more personalised content to the platform, so that users don't see a lot of random content filling up their news feeds. And remember, everyone who sees your status updates will see these lists, unless you set things otherwise.

Status updates on Facebook have come a long way since they first appeared as one of the most integral interactive features on the platform. Interestingly, users can also add coloured backgrounds and Emojis to the Lists. As reported by TechCrunch, it is a global update so will take some time to reach all the users....

For now, the list feature is only available for users on Android. iPhone users will be able to view lists but can't create them yet. A recent eMarketer report indicates that Facebook lost approximately 2.8 million US users aged under 25 years in 2017. Not only has the number of personal posts dramatically declined over the years, Facebook's younger userbase which is frequent in such updates has also declined. It should be next to other options like Check In, Photo/Video, Tag Event, and Support Nonprofit. Tap the Lists option to create a customized list for your news feed.

Are you excited for Lists? This goes hand in hand with Facebook's recent News Feed algorithm change, which brings friends to the forefront of the Facebook experience.
