The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is not launching with a carrier in the United States, but that may be a good thing as customers end up with a device free of USA carrier bloatware and restrictions on timely software updates.

At the moment, major retailers offer discounts for the new smartphone.

The US government remains concerned about Huawei's ties with the Chinese government, an issue that has blocked both the company and Hong Kong-listed ZTE Corp from selling network equipment to major US telecommunications carriers. Slightly revising their schedules and plans announced at CES 2018, where the Mate 10 Pro was named the best smartphone, pre-orders are being accepted starting today through February 17th.

After being available overseas for a couple of months, the Mate 10 Pro is finally making its way to the US. Customers who pre-order the device between now and February 17th will receive a $150 gift card from the retailer in which it was purchased. It must be noted that the phone works only on the GSM network. Being an extra premium smartphone and a special edition device, the Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design carries a price tag of $1,255. In terms of functionality, both the regular and Porsche version are nearly the same, but the latter is encased in glass and also expands up to 256 GB.

Beyond the aesthetic difference, the Pink Gold Mate 10 Pro is virtually identical to other colour variants of the device. You also have options for 128GB or 64GB SSD. The Huawei Mate 10 comes with a 5.9-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) IPS LCD display, while the Huawei Mate 10 Pro sports a 6-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display, so not only do the two phones sport different display resolutions and aspect ratio, but completely different display technologies as well. It uses USB-C, and it'll ship with Android 8.0 Oreo. Massdrop, a site that offers group discounts when enough people order a specific item, is offering a $100 discount on the Mate 10 Pro, cutting the price down to $699. Otherwise, all the specifications are same as the regular Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
