Released on 25 January, 2018, the film collected a whopping Rs.166.50 crore in Week 1 only. This year organiser has chose to pick up the the newsiest and eye-catching topic and it is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's most controversial movie Padmaavat.The pandal for this year's Durga pooja will be designed as Chittor palace in the film revealed by Sujit Bose, a TMC MLA from Bidhannagar constituency, and also the member of the organising committee.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to write about the impressive journey of Padmaavat at the box office. "He wrote, "#Padmaavat is back in form on Saturday. Will cross ₹ 250 cr today. Friday 3.50 cr, Sat 6.30 cr, Sun 8 cr. India biz.' After the film saw a lull collection on Friday, people expected the buzz of Padmaavat to have fizzled out. Despite some of her movies failing at the box office, her performances have been lauded by the audience.

"As far as Valentine's Day or Chocolate Day, are concerned for me, I think every day should be celebrated, and I will be prepping for my next film" added Deepika.

According to earlier reports, Deepika's fee was higher than Ranveer and Shahid. I don't think my life is different from anyone else's life. And the lady's words are proven absolutely right by Saturday's collection. One can very well imagine that the 300 Crore Club entry would have been a given for the film had it released across the country. While in the 2 week the film has earned approximately Rs.65 crore. However, it is unlikely that Padmaavat can overtake Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3 which is next in line with Rs 280.25 crores.
